Level 1 This level is designed for new swimmers.
The children learn floating, basic paddle strokes and
kicking skills. The swimmers will be encouraged to
submerge and jump independently while gaining
confidence to feel comfortable in water.
Level 2 This level is for swimmers who are comfortable
in the water. Independence and confidence are a focus whlie
continuing to increase skills in gliding, floating,
treading water, and swimming.
Level 3 This level focuses on increasing the swimmer's ability to develop strokes. The children will be able to swim three lenghts
of the pool on their front by the end of this level.
Level 4 This level continues the focus on
increasing endurance (swimming six lengths of pool)
while also working on stroke form. Breast stroke, back
stroke, front/back crawl and diving from blocks with
open turns will be introduced.
Level 5 Stroke refinement and endurance are continued
in this level for all strokes. This course introduces survival
swimming. Students will continue work on all stokes,
learn diving skills, will be introduced to flip turns and
start lessons on personal water safety.
Level 6/7 These levels prepare the students for the
transition into swim team and/or lifeguarding.
Junior life guarding skills are introduced in both levels.
Swim team skills, endurance and form are emphasized
in this level.
Swim lessons are NOT recommended for children under 4 years old.
